As is known, today the Saeima reviewed and immediately adopted urgent amendments to the Railway Law, which effectively obligate an increase in the fee for using Latvian infrastructure for the transit of Russian grain by as much as 300 percent! However, even this measure seems too lenient to the well-known political scientist Jurģis Liepnieks. "I consciously took a pause for a couple of days, thinking that I should calm down, that one cannot always be angry, but still, I do not know how to politely characterize the decisions of Kulbergs' government regarding Russian grain. So, the Latvian government has decided to ensure the unhindered transit of stolen grain from Russia and Ukraine through Latvian ports. The increase in one of the most insignificant items of transit costs will allow Latvia to earn a little from this joint business with Russia. As a result, the transit of grain will not be stopped; it is ongoing and will continue at full speed, we are helping the Russians to rob Ukraine and get money for the war. How???? This is the real policy of Kulbergs," the political scientist stated on the social network X.
