In a new interview with Page Six, Ringo Starr reflected on what the fate of The Beatles might have been if all the band members had remained alive. "I really think that at some point we might have gotten back together," the musician admitted. Starr particularly fondly remembered George Harrison, noting that he still misses his friend and colleague. John Lennon was killed in 1980 at the age of 40. George Harrison passed away from cancer in 2001 at the age of 58. The Beatles officially disbanded in 1970. After that, the former members of the band continued to communicate and occasionally collaborated with each other, but a full reunion of the famous quartet never happened. Today, of the four members of The Beatles, Ringo Starr and Paul McCartney remain alive. The musicians have maintained a warm relationship and still occasionally perform together on stage. "Paul and I are the only ones left. And we’re still playing," Starr said. According to him, if the musicians find themselves in the same city, McCartney may join Ringo's concert. Starr, in turn, sometimes appears at Paul's performances. Ringo himself also has no plans to end his career. In January 2025, he released a country album *Look Up*, and later returned to full concerts with his All Starr Band. Even at 86, the musician continues to tour and admits that performing in front of a live audience still brings him joy. At the same time, The Beatles remain an essential part of his life—Starr regularly remembers Lennon and Harrison and continues to play with McCartney whenever possible. More than half a century after The Beatles disbanded, Ringo Starr allows for the possibility that the legendary quartet could one day find themselves in the studio again. While that will never happen, the musical connection between the remaining members of the band has not faded—Starr and McCartney still occasionally meet on the same stage.
