Later on Sunday, Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that he had a new phone conversation with the U.S. president. He also mentioned that he plans to meet with Trump this week in New York during the United Nations General Assembly. This is not the first such appeal from the American president. Earlier, on September 13, Trump stated that he had asked Zelensky to stop strikes on Russian diesel-producing facilities. > "Let him attack other targets, but not diesel fuel, because it causes a shortage," Trump said at that time, claiming that the reason for the fuel shortage was not U.S. military actions against Iran, but strikes during the war between Russia and Ukraine. The next day, the U.S. president also stated that Russia and Ukraine allegedly reached an agreement not to strike energy infrastructure facilities. However, it later became clear that no such agreement exists between the parties.
