The United States secretly deported 25,000 migrants to 35 countries — Forbidden Stories Since January 2025, the administration of Donald Trump has deported at least 25,447 people to third countries. This was revealed by an investigation by Forbidden Stories. Washington has entered into secret agreements with 35 countries that have agreed to accept migrants who cannot be legally returned to their home countries, RTVI US reports. Most of those deported, about 20,000, ended up in Mexico, while the rest were distributed across 27 countries in Latin America, Africa, and the Pacific region. The program is allocated $410 million: part of the money goes directly to governments, while more than $300 million goes to UN agencies. Negotiations were conducted by the little-known Bureau of Reemigration of the State Department, and the compliance of partners was ensured through visa restrictions and generous assistance. Cameroon, for example, received nearly $400 million for healthcare shortly after signing the memorandum.
