## Working hours Friday, September 25, is the last day to apply for voting by mail. This is an opportunity for those citizens of Latvia who live abroad and for various reasons cannot participate in in-person voting at the diplomatic representations of Latvia on October 3. Starting next week, from September 28 to October 2 inclusive, early voting will take place, or more precisely, during this period, votes can be cast for storage. In other words, if for any reason (work, traveling abroad for vacation or business, religious reasons) you are unable to vote on Saturday, October 3, you can do so in advance. On September 28 and 30, polling stations will be open from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, on September 29 and October 1 from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM, and on October 2 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM. On the main election day, October 3, polling stations will be open from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. ## Present your documents It should be noted that to participate in the elections, citizens of the Republic of Latvia must have either a passport or an ID card with a valid expiration date. Therefore, those whose identification documents have already expired or will expire before October 3 should urgently change their documents at the office of the Citizenship and Migration Board. Non-citizens are not allowed to participate in the elections. ## Red and green Let us remind you that in the elections for the 15th Saeima, voters will be issued new sample ballots, which were used for the first time in last year's municipal elections. Specifically, next to the name of each candidate, there will be two boxes — green and red. If you support a specific candidate, you mark (dot, cross, shading) in the green circle next to their name. If you do not want to see a specific candidate in the next Saeima, you shade the red circle next to their name. You have the right not to make any marks at all, meaning you can choose not to evaluate the candidates and simply vote for a specific party.
