According to AFP, Bangkok has received **about 300 mm of rainfall** since Thursday. Roads have been flooded, canals are overflowing, and water has entered buildings. The situation is particularly severe in the eastern part of the city. One local resident told AFP that the water level in his area has risen to waist height. The city is preparing temporary shelters and evacuation sites, with special attention given to bedridden patients and other vulnerable residents. Authorities are attempting to pump out the water; however, Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt stated that drainage capabilities are limited due to overflowing canals. The situation may worsen: the Thai Meteorological Department warns of heavy and very heavy rain on September 26–27, including Bangkok and central regions of the country.
