Last week, the Latvian tennis player reached the second round of the WTA 250 tournament in Seoul and is now preparing to compete in the WTA 1000 series events in Beijing. Tournaments in this category allow players to earn significantly more ranking points, so a successful performance could impact her position in the world rankings. Latvia's second-ranked player, Darja Semenistaja, lost two positions over the week and now occupies 124th place. Beatrice Zeltiņa, on the other hand, climbed one spot to 435th position. Among other Latvian tennis players, the most notable progress was made by Elza Tomase, who jumped 41 places to 710th position. Retired player Anastasija Sevastova dropped to 625th place as she no longer participates in tournaments and does not add to her ranking. For most Latvian athletes, the past week did not bring significant changes. Some lost a few positions, while others slightly improved their standings, but the overall ranking in the national standings remained the same. There were also no changes in the top ten of the world rankings. The leader remains Kazakhstan's Elena Rybakina. Following her are Aryna Sabalenka, Jessica Pegula, Coco Gauff, Mira Andrejeva, Linda Noskova, Elina Svitolina, Karolína Muchová, Iga Świątek, and Marta Kostyuk. In the doubles ranking, Ostapenko maintained a high 12th place. Semenistaja dropped two positions to 196th, while Beatrice Zeltiņa also lost two spots and now occupies 298th position. The most notable progress among Latvian tennis players in doubles was demonstrated by Elza Tomase, who rose 90 places to 570th position. The leader of the world doubles ranking remains Czech player Katerina Siniakova.
