The Deputy Parliamentary Ombudsman of Finland, Susanna Lindroos-Hovinheimo, has initiated an official investigation on her own initiative. She intends to find out which specific functions have been transferred to AI, who bears legal responsibility for the decisions made, and how legality, citizens' rights, and principles of good governance are ensured. The ombudsman's decision could set an important precedent for the use of AI by authorities in Finland.
