The monument will be restored to its former splendour in time for the anniversary of the proclamation of the independence of the Republic of Latvia on 18 November, according to the local authority.
It is not currently possible to specify an exact completion date, as cleaning the monument is a technically complex process influenced by both weather conditions and the need to apply different cleaning methods to various materials. It is expected that the work could take several weeks....
