The Central Election Commission reminded that all voters who arrive at the polling station before 19:59 will be able to vote in the elections for the 15th Saeima. As explained by CEC representative Iveta Rozenfelde, if a person manages to enter the polling station before 20:00, they will definitely be given the opportunity to receive a ballot and vote, even if the procedure is completed after the official closing time. This means that the evening queue itself does not deprive a person of their right to vote. What matters is not the moment of dropping the ballot into the box, but the time of arrival at the polling station. At the same time, voters who arrive after 20:00 will no longer be able to participate in the voting. After the official closing of the polling stations, new visitors will not be admitted. This procedure is in place to ensure equal conditions for all voters who arrived before the established voting time ends. On Saturday, elections for the 15th Saeima are taking place in Latvia. 1,428 candidates representing 14 political parties and associations are competing for 100 parliamentary mandates.
