In Moscow, after a coordinated rally organized by the Communist Party of Russia, police detained more than 60 people. This was reported by Meduza, citing eyewitnesses and the Telegram channel "Caution, News." The event was timed to the anniversary of the events of October 1993 — the armed confrontation between President Boris Yeltsin and the Supreme Soviet, which ended with the storming of the parliament building using armored vehicles. According to various estimates, between several hundred and two thousand people participated in the rally. After the march, participants laid flowers at the memorial dedicated to those who died during the events of 1993. During the rally, slogans were heard in support of political prisoners, for fair elections, as well as critical statements directed at the Russian authorities and Roskomnadzor. According to eyewitnesses, the detentions occurred in two waves. It is reported that among the detainees were 26 representatives of the Communist Party of Russia, about 30 people whom the media call members of the "Yabloko" party, as well as several other activists. At the same time, the press service of the "Yabloko" party stated that they do not have information about the participation of their members in this event. Participants of the rally also demanded the release of Izhevsk activist Dmitry Morozov. According to the organizers of the event, he was detained on October 2 after attempting to hold a rally against alleged violations in the elections. On Sunday, it became known that a criminal case had been initiated against him on charges of drug possession. At the time of publication, no official information had been received from Russian law enforcement agencies regarding the number of detainees and the reasons for their detention.
