During the 'Animal Days', visitors whose first or last name contains the name of an animal will receive a 50% discount on the entrance ticket, and those whose first and last name both contain the name of an animal will be able to visit the zoo for free. To receive the discount, it is necessary to present an identification document at the ticket office. If the name of the animal is in another language, the visitor will need to confirm its meaning, for example, by presenting a dictionary or another reliable source. Visitors are advised to carefully study the meanings of their first and last names before visiting the zoo. It should be noted that the animal kingdom also includes birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, insects, and other creatures, so more unusual matches in names and surnames are possible. Starting Monday, October 12, the Riga Zoo will enter its winter season, and the zoo's operating hours will change. From October 12, the Riga Zoo will be open daily from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, but the ticket office and entrance will operate until 4:00 PM. The zoo reports that on the weekends dedicated to the 'Animal Days', visitors will be able to stroll until 7:00 PM.
