As reported by Ilze Dimante, head of external communications at Sadales tīkls, as of 7 AM, the electricity supply situation in Latvia remained stable. Only isolated damage to the power grid caused by strong winds was recorded. According to the outage map published by the company, around 40 power outages were registered across Latvia on Saturday morning. The most serious incident occurred on Friday evening in Riga. A tree broken by the wind damaged a medium-voltage power line, resulting in approximately 1,250 customers in the Mangalsala area temporarily losing electricity. Power supply interruptions also affected individual consumers in Vecdaugava and Vecaki — in the vicinity of Mangalsalas Avenue, Albatrosu and Zvejas streets, as well as Vecakyu Avenue. Power supply was restored approximately an hour later, by 10:15 PM. Despite the strong winds, large-scale accidents were avoided. Sadales tīkls reported that they would continue to operate as usual over the weekend.
