The case went to court, where a representative of an influential family pleaded guilty to improper supervision of a child. As reported by [New York Post](https://nypost.com/2026/10/14/world-news/abu-dhabi-royal-pictured-slumped-in-london-street-after-cocaine-binge/) citing the British newspaper The Times, the incident occurred in June 2026 in the western part of London. Passersby noticed a woman sitting barefoot on the sidewalk, leaning against a metal railing. She was in a state that did not allow her to respond to what was happening. Nearby lay a man who was also unconscious. Particular concern was raised by witnesses about the small child who was nearby. ## The Child Was Playing Near a Busy Road The three-year-old child, barefoot, was on the street with a scooter, in close proximity to moving cars. Noticing the danger, passersby intervened and stayed nearby until the police arrived. "A passerby noticed the child left unattended, barefoot, with a scooter. People intervened because he was too close to moving traffic," said prosecutor Rio Pahlavanpur in court. The exact familial relationship between Mahra Al Nahyan and the child was not publicly disclosed. ## Couldn’t Answer Police for Half an Hour Arriving police officers attempted to talk to the woman, but for about half an hour she was unable to answer questions. When Al Nahyan finally spoke, according to the prosecution, she began shouting at the police. "This is not a slaughterhouse! Why does this concern you so much? Why are you so worried?" she stated. During a search, drug paraphernalia was found with the woman, but no illegal substances were present. Later, Al Nahyan admitted that she had used cocaine in the days leading up to the incident. ## Treatment for Addiction and Court Decision During the court proceedings, the woman pleaded guilty to one count of improper supervision of a child. Her lawyer, Stephen Wullo, stated that after the incident, his client began treatment for drug addiction at a rehabilitation clinic. According to him, the three-month program is set to conclude at the end of October. After that, Al Nahyan intends to rent accommodation near the clinic, continue outpatient treatment, and attend Narcotics Anonymous meetings. "On that day she made a serious mistake and realizes it," the lawyer said. The court imposed a two-year community supervision on the woman with mandatory rehabilitation, as well as monetary penalties totaling just under $8,000. During the proceedings, it was revealed that Al Nahyan receives monthly support of over $10,500. ## A Representative of One of the Richest Dynasties in the World Mahra Al Nahyan is connected to the ruling family of Abu Dhabi through marriage. According to estimates provided by New York Post, the combined wealth of the Al Nahyan dynasty is around $300 billion, making it one of the richest royal families in the world. However, her high status and financial resources did not exempt the woman from criminal liability. The story gained widespread attention after the court hearing, which presented the circumstances of the incident and information about the child's condition at the time the woman was found.
