This was announced on social media by the chairwoman of the 'New Unity' (Jaunā Vienotība) board, member of the 'Unity' party board, Evika Silinā. According to her, the results of the parliamentary elections served as a kind of 'yellow card' for the party — a serious warning from voters that requires a rethinking of previous decisions and approaches to communication with society. Silinā acknowledged the need for change, emphasizing that the party should listen more attentively to the people, engage in direct dialogue with them more often, and speak in a more understandable language. Before the congress scheduled for November 28, special attention is planned to be given to the opinions of the youth and new party members. Their proposals should help determine the directions for further transformations. Until now, the board of 'Unity' included 14 politicians. Among them are board chairman Edmunds Jurevics, his deputies Raimonds Chudars and Zanda Kalniņa-Lukaševica, as well as Arvils Ašeradens, Evika Silinā, Rihards Kozlovskis, Vilnis Kirsis, Inese Libinā-Egnere, and other party representatives. Meanwhile, political uncertainty remains regarding the formation of the future government. Silinā noted that on Monday, October 19, the promised statement from the election-winning 'United List' regarding further actions and possible negotiations with the current coalition partners is expected. It is worth recalling that in the elections to the 15th Saeima, the 'United List' achieved a convincing victory, obtaining 41 parliamentary mandates. The party 'Latvia First' secured 17 seats, 'Sovereign Power/Young Latvians Union' — 15, National Alliance and 'Progressives' — 10 each. 'New Unity', which recently held leading positions in Latvian politics, received only seven parliamentary mandates.
