“Have you encountered such an informational road sign? Quite an interesting feeling. We are already used to passing by military facilities, and now there will also be tanks,” wrote a woman, sharing photos of the road sign from the Daudzeva–Sunakste road on the territory of the Selia military training ground. As can be seen, the sign indicates the crossing of tanks. In response to another social media user's question about whether the sign warns of tank movements or simply urges drivers to be prepared for an unusual situation, the woman explained that there are special concrete zones created for tank crossings at three locations on the road. “Across the road, there are special concrete zones at 3 locations that serve as tank crossings. The road passes through a military training ground. I did not encounter any tanks myself.” Meanwhile, other residents pointed out that they had seen a similar sign in the vicinity of the military base in Adazi, and one commenter added that such signs are quite common in Poland. As previously reported, there are special tank crossings at major intersections, which is a rather unusual solution for local roads. The Ministry of Defense explained that the road can be used by all road users, but there may be temporary traffic restrictions during military exercises.
