Musk reposted a message from Tesla Europe, Middle East & Africa, stating that the implementation of a system known in other markets as Assisted Full Self-Driving will begin in Latvia soon. On Monday, October 26, the Road Traffic Safety Directorate of Latvia (CSDD) recognized the approval of Tesla's driver assistance system issued in the Netherlands. Thus, our country became the tenth EU member state to approve this technology. The Tesla Assisted Driving system allows the car to perform a number of actions independently while driving: turning, braking, changing lanes, and navigating intersections according to the route set in the navigation. However, this does not mean fully autonomous driving. The driver is required to constantly monitor the road situation and be ready to take control at any moment. The approval of the technology in Latvia opens the possibility for local Tesla owners to use it, but the actual launch depends on further actions from the manufacturer. At this time, the exact date when Latvian drivers will be able to take advantage of the new features has not been announced.
