The statement from the embassy was shared on social media by the German ambassador to Poland, Miguel Berger. The embassy noted that in recent hours and days, videos and photographs have been circulating on social media in Poland showing vehicles and soldiers of the German army in Warsaw. To prevent possible misunderstandings, the German embassy explains the reasons for this presence. "Currently, the German embassy is inviting guests to the celebrations marking the 71st anniversary of the establishment of the Bundeswehr, during which an exhibition dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Air Force is being presented, celebrated at all German diplomatic missions abroad," the statement reads. "The German embassy clearly emphasizes that the current presence is exclusively ceremonial and coordinative in nature as part of the mentioned celebrations. Any disinformation suggesting Germany's interference in Poland's internal affairs or insinuating the use of allies for its own purposes will be firmly rejected," the embassy stated. ## "When Will Berlin Pay Military Reparations to Poland" The explanation from the German embassy followed a series of posts accusing Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk of seeking help from his "curators" in Berlin. In particular, ultra-right "Confederation" MP Konrad Berkowicz posted a video on platform X showing German soldiers. He wrote: "This is Warsaw – and the German army is on its streets. Donald Tusk brought reinforcements from Germany." The video, which shows military vehicles of the German army on the streets, also claims that the EU is sending German troops to Poland. MPs from the right-conservative opposition party "PiS" also shared photographs of German soldiers in Poland on social media. "Before Bundeswehr representatives march in a parade in Warsaw, the German state must answer fundamental questions: when will you return the thousands of illegally exported Polish cultural treasures and works of art? When will Berlin pay Poland the military reparations it owes for the bloody events of World War II?" wrote PiS MP Dariusz Matecki on X.
