This was reported by bb.lv, citing the TV channel "Dozhd" and the Russian online publication "Ostorozhno, Novosti," which spoke with Mulivanov's lawyer and relatives. ## Instead of a new life — an accusation of fraud In 2024, Sergey Mulivanov, known for his support of the ideas of the "Russian World" and participation in the activities of the "Russian Union of Latvia," decided to move to Russia. There, he got a job as a courier. However, one of the orders, as it turned out later, was related to the transportation of money stolen by fraudsters. As a result, a criminal case was initiated against Mulivanov for fraud, and in April 2026, he was detained during the investigation. ## A contract with the army was allegedly forced upon him to sign According to the lawyer, during his detention, Mulivanov was deceitfully forced to sign a contract with the Ministry of Defense of Russia and an accompanying statement. The lawyer claims that both documents were initially undated. "Neither document has a date. The date was only filled in now, in October 2026. The signature from six months ago was made to look as if it was signed just a few days ago," the lawyer said. Thus, according to the defense's version, the documents signed back in the spring were used in the fall to arrange Mulivanov's military service. No independent confirmation of the circumstances surrounding the signing of the contract is provided in the report. ## Refused to fight, but was taken anyway At the end of October, Mulivanov stated that he did not intend to participate in the war against Ukraine. However, according to his relatives, despite his refusal, he was sent against his will to Rostov. After that, communication with him was lost. According to family members, they have not heard from Mulivanov for about a week. His current whereabouts and whether he was sent directly to the front are unknown.
