In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Depp admitted that he is open to considering an offer to participate in a continuation of the popular film saga if the story receives a worthy conclusion. According to the actor, it is fundamentally important for him how the creators plan to end the franchise. Depp would like the audience to say goodbye to their beloved characters on a good note, and for the finale to be worthy of the entire long-standing story. At the same time, the actor emphasized that he still fully trusts producer Jerry Bruckheimer, who worked on all five films in the series. "I’m ready to work with Jerry Bruckheimer tomorrow on anything. If it’s Jerry, I trust him. We have absolute mutual understanding," Depp stated. The actor's words have once again fueled fans' interest in the possible return of one of the most recognizable characters in modern cinema. Let us remind you that Johnny Depp first appeared as the eccentric Captain Jack Sparrow in 2003 in the film "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl." He subsequently played this character in four more films, the last of which, "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales," was released in 2017. Meanwhile, the fate of the sixth installment remains uncertain. Producer Jerry Bruckheimer had previously talked about developing a new film and the possibility of rebooting the franchise with different characters. However, the producer has never hidden that he would like to see Depp as Jack Sparrow again. Moreover, he has repeatedly discussed this possibility with the actor. Bruckheimer emphasized that it was Depp who made Captain Jack the way millions of viewers loved him. According to the producer, many characteristics of the character were initially absent from the script and appeared thanks to the actor's improvisation. So far, Disney has not officially announced either the release date for the sixth installment of "Pirates of the Caribbean" or the final cast. Nevertheless, Depp's new statement gives fans hope: Captain Jack Sparrow may still return to the big screen to complete his last adventure.
